ISO 9001 Quality Management System / FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System

We, as Diageo Türkiye, pay the utmost attention to high quality and consumer health at every stage of product life-cycle and production. Accordingly, we put into place systems that enable customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and development within the organization of the company and accomplish infrastructural investments pursuing cutting-edge high technology on such basis. As the leading company operating in the rapidly growing alcoholic beverage industry, we reiterate quality product and food safety by management systems and diligently fulfill the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2005 standards. We are the first raki producer with ISO 9001 certificate, and the first winemaker with ISO 22000 certificate in Türkiye, and thanks to certification of our Sales Distribution Directorate in 2008, we ensure that product safety is effectively maintained across the sales network. In 2016, all of our production sites upgraded their food safety standards to FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System.

ISO 9001

We ensure that the needs and expectations of our customers are met through the processes that we carry out and continuously improve with a risk-based thinking approach in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, process management practices and the requirements of the FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System. The Company not only fully fulfills its obligations prescribed under the statutory regulations, but also prioritizes consumer health and customer satisfaction, determines all the necessary actions and measures to ensure that the responsibly consumed product poses no risk to health, and ensures that each stage, from the suppliers to consumers, is in accordance with the management systems policies

ISO 14001

2015 Environmental Management System/ Greenhouse Gas Verification We, as Diageo Türkiye, do our best to minimize the environmental impacts, to reduce, sort and recycle wastes, to measure our greenhouse gas emissions and our carbon footprint, and to minimize natural resource and energy consumption. We are the first company in the alcoholic beverage industry to have the environmental management system certified in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard. We continuously improve our environmental performance by comprehensively identifying and controlling our environmental impacts.

Greenhouse Gas Statement

Nevsehir Distillery Plant issued a greenhouse gas report and compiled a greenhouse gas inventory for 2009 in accordance with the internationally recognized ISO 14064:1 "Accounting for Greenhouse Gas Emissions", and had them certified by Lloyd's Register, an independent organization, on 07/10/10, which is a first in Turkish food industry.

Product Carbon Footprint Verification

For the first time in Türkiye, the greenhouse gas emissions released because of the life cycle of white and red wines of Kayra Vintage Series were calculated in accordance with the PAS 2050:2008 standard. It was verified by Bureau Veritas, an independent organization, on 05/09/2011.

ISO 45001

We, as Diageo Türkiye, believe that our employees are our most valuable resource. Accordingly, we accomplish our investments in this field. Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees is one of our primary requirements. We have been making planned and systematic efforts in relation to occupational health and safety. Accordingly, we have adopted the ISO 45001:2018 Management Standard as a management model that requires systematic control of the practices, which may affect the health and safety of our employees, and we have transited from OHSAS 18001:2007, which was a first in Turkish spirits industry, to ISO 45001:2018, in 2019.

Scope of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System

It involves production of raki, vodka, gin, liquor, wine, suma and ethyl alcohol of agricultural origin and aniseed processing activities by MEY Alkollu Ickiler, as well as storage and distribution of alcoholic beverages of Mey Icki.

Information Notice

The regulation known as the Seveso directive was most recently published in our country in the Official Gazette dated March 2, 2019 and numbered 30702 as the new "Regulation on the Prevention and Mitigation of Major Industrial Accidents" by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, and the Ministry of Interior, taking into account the Council Directive dated 4/7/2012 and numbered 2012/18/EC.

Our organization is subject to the provisions of the "Regulation on the Prevention and Mitigation of Major Industrial Accidents". The notification specified in Article 7 of the Regulation was declared using the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization notification system (BEKRA). Within the framework of the BEKRA notification, our organization has been determined as a "Lower Tier" organization. In accordance with Article 10 of the Regulation, the "Major Accident Prevention Policy Document" has been prepared by our organization.

Detailed studies have been carried out on the necessary measures and what needs to be done in case of a major accident at the facility, and all personnel have received adequate training on emergencies. In case of an accident at the facility, the relevant institutions will be informed by the personnel. In this case, you should immediately move away from the scene and stay in a safe area while waiting for the accident hazards to be eliminated.

Flammable gas and substances hazardous to the environment and health are stored at the facility. Accidents that could result in fire, explosion, and environmental pollution have been scenario-planned at the facility, and many precautions have been taken for these accidents. There are measures to prevent the spread of flammable gases into the environment, as well as warning measures to prevent the spread from growing.

A Crisis Management Plan has been prepared to communicate with emergency service units, neighboring organizations, and other institutions to minimize the effects of major industrial accidents at the facility. All possible scenarios have been evaluated in this plan, and necessary training has been provided to employees.

All accident scenarios that may occur at the facility have been evaluated and a report has been prepared, and Hazardous Material Intervention Cards that identify hazardous materials and provide information about intervention methods have been prepared and shared with relevant institutions.

Our Consumer Complaints Process

As Mey İçki Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi and Mey Alkollü İçkiler Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi ('Diageo Türkiye'), we follow the consumer complaints process regarding the products we produce, import, sell and distribute with great care, in accordance with our consumer satisfaction criteria and the Law on the Protection of Consumers ('Law') as follows:

We receive our consumers' complaints about Diageo Türkiye products through our hotline (call centre) on 444 4 639. We also direct the complaints submitted to our company through different channels (such as sending an e-mail to [email protected]) to our hotline.

After the complaint reaches us, we contact the consumer within 1 business day and inform them that the product will be taken from them so that it can be analyzed. By making an appointment with the consumer, we ask them to fill in the signed Consumer Complaint Product Delivery form, and we receive the complained product through our courier.

In accordance with the Law on Consumer Protection, when a product is claimed to be defective, the product subject to the complaint must be taken from the consumer and analysed.

In this analysis, it is carefully examined whether the product subject to the consumer's complaint is original, whether it has been interfered with or whether there are foreign substances. This analysis is carried out by senior experts at the Central Laboratory of the Diageo Türkiye Quality Department, and efforts are made to ensure that it is concluded as soon as possible.

When there is a complaint about imported products bearing Diageo brands, we repeat the same practice until the laboratory stage, but this time we send the product to Diageo for analysis.

In both cases, when the results of the analyses are obtained, we call the consumer and inform them about the issue.
