TEQUILA

Our international brands in the tequila category that we distribute in our country under Diageo are Casamigos and Don Julio.

It is known that tequila was first produced by the Aztecs 2000 years ago from the juice of the agave plant. It is obtained by distilling the Agave tequiliana plant, which is a variety of the Agave plant, which is a juicy fruit and also known as Patience Plant in Anatolia. It has a fruity and sharp taste. Tequila is a drink whose taste intensifies as it ages. If it is kept in a metal or glass tank, which keeps the tequila colourless, it takes the name Blanco (silver). As in whisky production, it can also be produced by ageing in oak barrels. This method gives tequila other aromas (caramel, vanilla, sage, pepper, etc. depending on the type of barrel) and gives it its golden colour.
