Diageo Turkey Takes Action to Protect Tomorrow

Diageo Turkey, operating in the alcoholic beverage sector, has published its Sustainability Report covering the period from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. Prepared in line with the "Ecosystem 2030: Spirit of Progress" strategy, the report shares the company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) advancements, goals, and social contribution projects with the public.

A standout project in the report is the Gastronomy Village established in the Samandağ district of Hatay and the Learning for Life education program launched there. Within this scope, 114 women received training in entrepreneurship, leadership, hospitality, and financial literacy. The project was implemented in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Bahar Uçanlar, General Manager of Diageo Turkey, emphasized that sustainability is at the center of their business model: "We view sustainability not just as a responsibility, but as the transformative power of our business. With our 10-year ESG plan 'Ecosystem 2030,' we are working for a more inclusive, fair, and sustainable world. The most meaningful way to celebrate today is by protecting tomorrow."

324,675 m³ of Water was restored to nature through "Water Replenishment" projects.

Emission Reduction: Operational emissions were reduced by 15% compared to the previous year.

Waste Management: The waste recovery rate was maintained at 100%.

Renewable Energy: The use of 100% renewable electricity was sustained across all offices and production facilities.

Natural Cycle: Approximately 55 tons of pruning waste were mixed into the soil to be reintegrated into the natural cycle.

Education and Agriculture: 387 producers in the Gediz Basin were provided with training on water management, fertilizer usage, and soil health.

Occupational Health: Health and safety training covered nearly 1,000 employees.

Digitalization: AI-supported image processing for risk analysis and the "Welcome" digital orientation applications were launched.

Economic Growth: During the F24 period, sales volume in Turkey increased by 4%, while net sales grew by 31%.
